AIStorageDepot
Free AI prompt manager · built-in MCP server

Your prompts, rules & skills — as slash-commands inside Claude Code, Cursor & Codex.

A folder of prompts is stuck on one machine, in one tool, a copy-paste from your agent. AIStorageDepot is one versioned, searchable library that serves the right prompt, rule, or skill into every tool and teammate on demand — or opens in any AI in one click.

Start solo, free. When your team needs one playbook, it’s the same library — shared, with roles and one source of truth.

🔌 Model Context Protocol

Your library, live inside your AI tools

Connect once with the AIStorageDepot MCP server and your agent can reach into your library on demand — no copy‑paste. Just ask in plain language and it fetches the right prompt, pulls in your rules, or reads your docs. Works in Claude, Cursor, VS Code, Codex, and more.

No account? Run it with no token and it serves a free, read-only sample of our prebuilt library — try it in your editor before you sign up.

🔒 Safe to connect
Read-only connection
The MCP link exposes exactly two tools — search and fetch, both reads. Through it, nothing can edit, delete, or run anything.
Open source — read it first
The connector is ~730 lines of MIT-licensed JavaScript with one dependency and no install scripts. Read every line before you install it.
Revoke in one click
Every request re-checks your token against the database. Revoke it and the very next call is refused — no cache, no delay.
Never sent to a model
There is no AI inside the request path. Your prompts travel from your agent to your library and back — no third party, no model.

Straight about the rest: your token is a key to your libraries — treat it like a password and revoke it if it leaks. We deliver items exactly as written and don’t sanitize their content, so treat prompts from shared sources like any your agent will act on. How your data is protected →

✦ Slash commands

Prefer typing “/”? Your library becomes commands — in every editor

Once MCP is connected, any item you mark with “/” is a native slash‑command in Claude Code, Cursor, VS Code, Windsurf, and Codex — type values right after the command and the AI fills a prompt’s [fields], asking for anything missing. Skills, rules, docs — mark them and type them. Prefer local copies that work offline? One optional pull:

npx -y @aistoragedepot/mcp pull --token=aisd_••• --workspaces=all --to=all --types=skill

Free for individuals — no card. Team & Company plans add shared libraries.

🤝 For teams

Your team, one source of truth

Shared team libraries with roles and invites, so everyone works from the same approved prompts, rules, and skills — versioned, with your edits overriding the defaults automatically. Publish once; every teammate’s tools pick it up over MCP. No more pasting the “current” prompt into Slack.

✦ One-click actions

Open it in your AI — enhanced, or made reusable

Open any item in Claude, ChatGPT, or Perplexity, prefilled and ready. A dropdown next to the button gives you one-click actions — polish a prompt, or turn a one-off into a reusable [bracketed] template you can fill in again and again. Add your own instructions too.

Everything your AI library needs

Open it in your AI

One click opens your prompt in Claude, ChatGPT, or Perplexity — prefilled and ready to run. Add a wrapper like “Enhance this prompt:” and let your assistant improve it. Pick your default assistant in settings.

Plug into Claude, Cursor & Codex

Connect your library as an MCP server: mark any item with / and it becomes a native slash-command (prompts take your input as arguments), while everything else is there for the agent to read on demand — inside Claude Desktop, Cursor, Cline, Windsurf, VS Code, Claude Code, and Codex. An optional one-line pull also installs your skills as typed local commands, no token needed. Free for individuals; Team and Company plans add sharing and control.

Fill-in-the-blank prompts

Turn prompts into templates with [fields]. Click a field to drop in a value, tweak it, and copy the finished result — so you reuse the prompt, not the rewrite.

Every kind of AI content

Prompts, Cursor/agent rules, markdown docs, mcp.json configs, skills, output templates — typed and versioned — plus a File type for everything else (ignore files, scripts) that keeps its real name and extension. Define your own item types too.

Versioning & safe edits

Every change is tracked with full history, and optimistic locking warns you when someone else edited the same item — so nothing gets clobbered.

Organize & find fast

Categories, tags, favorites, and pins — plus search by title, content, author, or who last edited it. Open libraries as tabs you can drag to reorder and pin the ones you live in.

Bring what you already have

Import in minutes instead of retyping. Drag in your files or a .zip, or pull a whole GitHub repo (private ones too) — your prompts, rules, skills, templates, docs, and configs land auto-typed and ready to review, and stray ignore files or scripts land as Files with their real extensions. No copy-paste marathon to get started.

Download as real files

Download items as clean Markdown, JSON, or YAML files — ready to drop into your repo as the file your tool reads: AGENTS.md, .cursor/rules/*.mdc, mcp.json.

Built for teams

Share a company-wide library and per-team libraries, with roles and invites. Define item types once and use them across every team — and lock items read-only so they stay clean.

A prebuilt head start

Everyone browses and copies from a growing library of battle-tested prompts, rules, and configs — start from something proven instead of a blank page. Free for individuals.

API-first, everywhere

Built on a clean API, so your library is reachable everywhere you work — any browser (laptop or phone), your editor, your agents, and your own scripts. One source of truth.

🔒 Safe & durable

Your library is safe here — and still here tomorrow

Your prompts and docs are your working knowledge. We treat them that way.

Your library is yours

What you create belongs to you, your team, and your company — nobody else. Another customer can't see it, search it, or reach it by guessing. The only things that cross accounts are the prebuilt examples we publish, and a share link you create yourself.

No AI sees your prompts

There's no AI inside AIStorageDepot. We store and organize; when you hit “Open in Claude” your own browser takes the prompt to your own AI account. Your library is never training data — not for us, not for anyone.

Encrypted everywhere

Everything travels over HTTPS/TLS and is encrypted at rest — plain HTTP never carries a byte of your data.

Your account, locked down

Passwords stored only as bcrypt hashes, optional two-factor with backup codes, and failed sign-ins lock the account before a guesser gets anywhere.

Payments never touch us

Billing runs entirely on Stripe. Your card number goes to Stripe's vault, not our servers or our database.

Deleted by accident? Undo it

Anything you delete waits in the Trash for 30 days, and every item keeps full version history — restore either one yourself in a click. An overzealous edit or a stray delete is never a disaster.

Backed up automatically

On top of that, the whole database is backed up and encrypted automatically — a disaster-recovery safety net for the platform, so a bad day for our servers isn't a bad day for your library.

Never locked in

Export items as real files, pull everything over the API and MCP, or delete your account yourself — your data leaves whenever you want it to.

The free tier includes 2,500 pulls a month; paid plans scale at roughly 10,000 per seat (30,000 on Individual Plus; a 10-seat team shares 100,000, and so on). A “pull” is an automated read of your library — an agent fetching a prompt, rule, or doc; using the web app or an AI tool’s setup calls never counts. Go over and pulls drop to a reduced speed until the monthly reset — never cut off, and the web app is unaffected. Team Plus & Company can opt into overage ($0.80 / $0.50 per extra 10K pulls) to stay at full speed.

Prefer to run it yourself? The self-hosted edition deploys on your own Azure or servers with your own database — your prompts never leave your network. $1,999 one-time with the first year of updates included, then $299/year only if you want new releases — your install itself never stops working. Buy now — your license key arrives by email the moment payment clears — or email us with questions. Purchasing means you agree to the Server License Terms.

Questions, answered

What is AIStorageDepot?

The connected library for everything you feed your AI: one searchable, versioned home for your prompts, skills, rules, docs, configs, templates, and files. It's more than a prompt manager because your library doesn't just sit there — it plugs live into the tools you work in, as slash-commands in your editor, pulled on demand over MCP, or opened in any AI in one click.

Is there a free AI prompt manager with an MCP server?

Yes — that's exactly what AIStorageDepot is: a free AI prompt manager with a built-in MCP server. Individuals get a full prompt library — prompts, skills, rules, docs, configs, templates, and files, versioned and searchable — plus the MCP server that plugs it straight into Claude, Cursor, VS Code, and Codex, with 2,500 MCP / API pulls a month included. No credit card required.

Is my content used to train AI models?

No — never. Your library is your private working knowledge. We don't sell your data, we don't mine it, and we don't use it to train anything. There's no AI inside AIStorageDepot at all: we store and organize, and when you hit “Open in Claude” your own browser carries the prompt to your own AI account. The only AI that sees your prompts is the one you send them to.

Can another customer see my prompts?

No. What you create belongs to you, your team, and your company. Access comes from your membership in a library and every read is checked against it, so someone who signs up — a competitor included — can't see your items, search them, or reach them by guessing an address. Two things cross accounts, both on purpose and both visible to you: the prebuilt library we publish (ours, read-only, everyone can browse it), and any share link you create yourself. The full picture, limits included, is on our security page.

Do I need a credit card to start?

No. The free plan gives you a personal library with 10 MB of storage — room for thousands of prompts — plus every item type, version history, and the prebuilt library, with no card and no trial clock. Individual Plus ($5/mo) adds more storage and pulls when you want them; the team plans add collaboration.

What is MCP, and why does it matter?

Model Context Protocol is the open standard AI tools use to reach external sources. Connect your library once and Claude, Cursor, VS Code, Codex, and friends can pull the right prompt, rule, or doc on demand — no copy-paste. It’s free for individuals — 2,500 pulls a month, 30,000 on Plus; Team and Company plans add shared libraries, roles, and controls.

Can I try it without signing up?

Yes. Run the MCP server with no token and it serves a free, read-only sample of our prebuilt library — ready-made prompts, rules, and skills — right inside Claude, Cursor, VS Code, or Codex. It's the fastest way to see it in action; add a token later for your own and team libraries.

I already have prompts scattered everywhere — can I bring them in?

Yes, and it's quick. Drag in your files or a .zip, or point us at a GitHub repo — public, or private with a token we use once and never store — and we pull your prompts, rules, skills, templates, docs, and configs straight in — each one auto-detected as the right type (ignore files and scripts land as Files with their real extensions) so you just review and save. No retyping to get started.

Can I get my data out?

Always. Download any item as a clean file, select many and export a .zip, or pull everything over the API and MCP. You can also permanently delete your account yourself from Settings — no support ticket needed.

Is there a free trial for the team plans?

Yes — every self-serve team plan (Team, Team Plus, Company) starts with a 30-day free trial. A card is required, and we email you three days before the first charge so nothing is a surprise. Cancel any time during the trial — no charge, and nothing is deleted. One trial per person.

What happens if I stop paying?

No cliffs. Libraries over their limit turn read-only with a 90-day grace window and email warnings — nothing is silently deleted. And we never purge accounts for inactivity: step away for a year and your library is waiting.

Can I run AIStorageDepot on my own servers?

Yes — the self-hosted edition installs on your own Azure or Docker with your own PostgreSQL database, so prompts never leave your network. It's $1,999 one-time: you own it forever, it never expires, and it never phones home. The first year of updates is included; after that it's $299/year only if you want new releases — your install keeps working either way. Already on a cloud plan? A company owner can export all libraries and import them into a self-hosted install.

What's free, and what do the paid plans add?

Everything an individual needs is free: your personal library, all item types, custom types, version history on every item, the prebuilt library, 10 MB of storage, and 2,500 MCP / API pulls a month. Individual Plus adds 25× the storage and 12× the pulls for solo power users, while the team plans are about working together — Team gives a 10-seat team one shared library with roles and invites (grow past 10 with $2/mo extra seats), Team Plus is the same at 10× the scale, and the Company plans add multiple teams, a company-wide library, and team history. A company plan covers its members completely: even their personal libraries draw from the company's shared storage. And if your policy says prompts can't leave your network, the self-hosted edition is a one-time $1,999 purchase — runs on your own servers, yours forever, first year of updates included.

What are share links?

Any item can get a share URL. Strangers see a clean view of it, no account needed — and teammates who sign in open the real item in the app with their normal permissions. A link stays active until you revoke it, and one click revokes it instantly.

Your prompts, rules, and docs deserve a real home.
